The Carty story

I came to Arizona after meeting my ex husband in Saudi Arabia where I was working as a nurse. He was from NYC and after dating for several yrs he asked me to move here. I knew that I would be leaving my family, my career and my way of life to start afresh here in Arizona.

I was a RN for 15 yrs so I aimed to work in the USA with a compact license. My first job here was in Macy’s as the process of obtaining a green card, then the process of transferring all my credentials and then obtaining my nurse license was the most stressful experience of my life. Due to that, we went our separate ways but I was determined to make it on my own.

Then in 2021 I obtained my nursing license and have been nursing here ever since.

I miss Ireland every day and I am the first of my family to come to the states. Immigration has its challenges but I now am I engaged to a guy from Arizona and who knows what the future will bring. I have now bought my first house here, Arizona has now become my new home.
